NCT Pre Tests

The National Car Test (NCT) is a compulsory vehicle inspection programme in Ireland. The primary aim of this programme is to improve road safety and enhance environmental protection by reducing harmful vehicles emissions in Ireland.

New regulations in force:

• 5 penalty points for driving a dangerously defective vehicle.
• 5 points for driving without a certificate of road worthiness.
• 3 points for driving a vehicle without fixing a fault uncovered by NCT.

What’s included in a Free Pre NCT?

The free NCT check is a visual check. Included in this are wipers, bulbs, tyres, pressures, visual check of the brake pads and discs & all levels are assessed.

To obtain a Free NCT Pre Test a customer must provide proof of their NCT appointment beforehand.

What’s not included in the NCT pre-test?

The test does not include steering mis-alignment correcting or headlight aim adjustment where detected.

The test is carried out without obligation and we will be happy to quote for any remedial work required to prepare your car for the N.C.T.

Mechanical checks may incur a cost, and you will always be advised of costs before any work commences.
